When you don’t ask others for help, do you know what you are doing to the relationships you have? Have you considered what it feels like to the other person when you rely solely on your own self sufficiency?

Do you hear “should” all the time? Do you feel shackled by all the things you SHOULD be doing? What “should” you do? How do we know for certain? What if there was one easy answer?

God isn’t looking to make us in control, wealthy, powerful or comfortable…..he is looking to make us surrendered to HIM alone. Not because he is a control freak. No. It isn’t power or control he is seeking, that is us. It is because He is LOVE

When life turns up the heat and the gunk rises to the top, when the worst parts of ourselves surface for all to see, what does God want to do?

Does God care about the little things we pray for? Isn’t he busy? Why should we pray for the little things when there are people dying, starving, being raped?

Do you feel like God smiles when He looks at you? Do you feel like you are God’s favorite child? Or does your God come with checklists and to-do lists? How do we move from check-list God to feeling like we are His favorite child….

Do you ever feel like you have no value? Me too. I am in a season of my life were I am completely worthless to the world. What do I do with that feeling? I remember one thing.

Do you pray and ask God with help deciding about the job change or the health decision? What about praying about the little things like asking Him what you should wear? Which is harder?

Do you feel like you have to DO things to receive love? What about God’s love? Could God ever really love you as you are? I always believed that I couldn’t be loved as I was. I had to dress up, shape up, change, be good, let go of those things I loved to receive His love. But now I know that couldn’t be further from the truth.

From the bottom of my own pit, God showed me the antidote to pain and self pity.

Pain and suffering, sickness and disease. I never knew how it can be so lonely. Is God in it?

I am afraid. Very afraid. I pray and pray for the fear to go...but my 8-year-old has a different answer.
